Customer Reviews

"We arrived after 2. We ordered BQ and a few fried items. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our food. The burnt ends were dry, tough and drowned in BBQ sauce. The Mac and cheese, cheese tasted very fake. The slaw was good. We have been searching for traditional burnt ends. The search continues."

"We were in Carthage RV shopping and we decided we wanted to try Big Ben's Barbecue Station. It was around 4 PM, or a rather late lunch. I ordered a salad with three meats: hot links, brisket, and pork. I ordered ranch dressing because they didn't have blue cheese. I also had an unsweet tea. My husband ordered the pulled pork dinner. He ordered cheesy potatoes and baked beans for his side and also had unsweetened iced tea. Our food was really good except for the cheesy potatoes which my husband said, tasted like they had been cooked a month ago after coming out of the box. Both of us had questions when we were ordering, and the person taking our order didn't know how to answer our questions. After we placed the order, we sat down and our food, came pretty quickly. After that, there was no more service. That was it. The service was virtually nonexistent. It would've been easier to eat this food with real silverware instead of the small cheap plastic utensils. The restaurant is really cute in decor and, being Marines, we loved the Marine Corps wall hangings. If we come to Carthage again, we will try a different restaurant"

"We found upon entering the establishment that you order at the register. Make your drinks and find a seat. We found it to be clean and comfortable. The workers were polite and mostly helpful. The fries were good as was the fried mushrooms. We had the chopped Brisket sandwich (no onions, etc), we found to be mediocre in taste and a little greasy. We also had mashed potatoes and gravy which wasn't warm but the taste was good. The facility was clean and comfortable."

"A 2 for service is because we called ahead to see If we could still get food if we were there 10 minutes before closing and they said np. We get there and ordered- upon sitting down we soon got hit with the smell of cleaning solution as they were mopping the floors. My sister and I ate on the benches by the door to stay away from the smell. We left with headaches. The cleaning solution was so strong that it took away from the taste of the food. We were hungry and ate quick as we can. If it wasn't so cold we would have ate outside. Good place- just don't go near closing time."

"Im a trk driver and eat BBQ 2-3 month in every state. It's been awhile since I've reviewed because I don't like to talk bad about mom and pop non-chains. But this was by far BEST BBQ IN YEARS.A FELLOW TRK DRIVER TOLD ME ABOUT IT ON MY C.B. SO GLAD HE DID. 15 MINUTES TO CLOSING I GOT A TO GO ORDER THAT WAS JUST AS GOD AS IF I HAD ORDERED 15 MIN AFTER OPENING. ( A TESTAMENT TO A VERY WELL MANAGED RESTAURANT) ANYWAYS CANT WAIT TO RETURN AND TELL ANY AND ALL TRK DRIVERS THIS IS A MUST TRY/STOP. YES THEY HAVE TRUCK PARKING. CANT WAIT TO BURP IN THE MORNING AND TASTE THAT AWESOME BBQ SAUCE. "

"Dropped in for a late lunch. Prices were reasonable. Our group chose the sandwich platters with a side. My wife and I chose premium sides (minimal upcharge) and the servings were very generous. Chopped brisket was good, but the onion rings were FANTASTIC. You could tell they were the fresh hand-dipped kind, not the kind out of a freezer bag."

- Ginger S.

"Nice place, enjoyed the decor - the owners are clearly Chevy fans! Sort of a mix between fast food and sit down dining. BBQ sauce was sweeter than I like, but still had good flavor. Tried the pulled chicken and burnt ends for lunch. Chicken was spot on, burnt ends were a little dry/over cooked, but still made a good sandwich. Kids had strips and macaroni - both were excellent."
